This traffic improvement project involved road widening, resurfacing, and the construction of a new traffic loop to alleviate congestion and reduce accidents on a roundabout used by 2.9 million vehicles annually. Key works included:
- Carriageway widening and U-turn facility
- Traffic signal and pedestrian-controlled crossing
- Footway improvements
- Highway surface and drainage upgrades
- Lighting system upgrade
- Installation of vehicle restraint systems and fencing
- New brick-faced retaining wall, drainage bypass, and spillage containment/storm balancing channel
