Project details
MidKent College provides further and higher education courses from its campuses in Maidstone and Medway, supporting around 8,500 students. The college has implemented the ZERO project, which aims to significantly reduce its environmental impact and work towards becoming net zero (carbon neutral).
The focus of the project is to reduce energy consumption, waste, and pollution, while promoting sustainable practices across all facilities. This includes switching to renewable energy sources such as installing solar panels and air-source heat pumps as well as introducing energy efficient lighting, improved recycling facilities, and measures to reduce water usage.
These initiatives should help to give a healthier, more eco-friendly environment for students and staff at the college, while also contributing to the college's resilience to future environmental changes.
