About Tom Taylor
Tom is a highly experienced construction claims and quantum expert with 20 years’ experience in the construction industry. He has extensive frontline experience in the preparation, management, and resolution of complex, high-value claims on some of the world’s most prominent energy, aviation, civil engineering, and oil & gas projects, both in the UK and internationally.
Over the past decade, Tom has been instructed as an expert witness in over 200 contentious matters across a wide range of values and complexities. He has extensive adjudication and litigation experience. His recent international arbitration experience includes major projects in Africa, Europe, the Middle East, and Australia. Domestically, he has been appointed on termination claims, final account disputes, professional negligence matters, and other construction valuation issues, including disputes arising under the Building Safety Act 2022.
Tom has been appointed by public bodies, employers, contractors, and subcontractors in litigation, adjudication, international arbitration, and other forms of dispute resolution. He has provided expert evidence as both a party-appointed and single joint quantum expert, and has been cross-examined, including by King’s Counsel.
With a broad and varied background, Tom delivers concise, practical, and proportionate advice. He is particularly valued by clients for his ability to focus on the key issues and produce clear, effective, and commercially focused work product that is proportionate to the size and business importance of the dispute.
