About Selim Guler
Selim is a civil engineer and quantity surveyor with over 15 years of experience in the construction industry. He has assisted reputable quantum experts across a wide range of disputes in international arbitration, including matters relating to cost to complete, defects, prolongation, head office overheads, mitigation/acceleration, disruption, financing costs and variations.
Prior to his expert work, Selim spent over eight years in contracting internationally, giving him extensive commercial experience and acumen on a wide range of issues. He has worked for a leading international main contractor on the delivery of an airport in Oman and a gas compressor facility project in Georgia. This was followed by an assignment as claims consultant for the construction of a proton beam therapy hospital project in the UK. Selim has been involved in the engineering, procurement, construction, project management and commercial management stages of several international projects across various regions.
Selim’s on-site experience covers projects such as international airports, hotels, process plants and hospitals. His dispute work includes, but is not limited to, a world class hospital, several industrial/process plants, a suspension bridge, a dam and an offshore wind farm. He has worked under various forms of contract, including FIDIC, NEC and bespoke forms.
