- Assisted the lead expert witness on a 15-storey residential development adjudication, establishing quantum in relation to delay and extensive alleged partitioning defects.
- Represented major surfaces subcontractor on a £150m highways framework, preparing multiple high-value claims – including £10m delay and disruption and £30m quantum meruit – and advising on five successful adjudications.
- Delivered successful outcomes representing contractors across complex infrastructure and specialist projects, including a £3m delay and disruption settlement on a Grade II listed wooden railway viaduct, and a series of adjudications on a £26m advanced quantum metrology facility.
- Represented contractor on a £17.5m nuclear sampling system within a £22.5bn bespoke contract, overseeing claim preparation for delay and design changes while advising the client on commercial, contractual and strategic matters.
About Robert Woodbine
Robert is a contractual and commercial specialist in construction and engineering with over 25 years of industry experience. Beginning his career as a quantity surveyor with UK construction companies, he transitioned into construction consultancy, where he has developed extensive expertise in contractual and commercial matters and dispute resolution across the UK and Middle East.
His sector experience spans industrial, building, civil, power stations, rail, infrastructure, and nuclear construction and engineering projects, procured under various standard, modified, and bespoke forms of contract.
Robert specialises in dispute avoidance and resolution, including claims preparation and defence, final account settlement negotiation, as well as preparation of adjudication referral documents, entitlement documentation for extensions of time and loss and expense claims, and delay analysis. He has supported expert witnesses representing both employers and contractors across building, rail, nuclear, and infrastructure projects.
Throughout his consultancy career, Robert has managed commercial advisory teams across procurement, commercial management, project management, risk, training, and dispute services. He has maintained full commercial responsibility for live projects from inception to completion, including budget preparation and presentation, cash flow management, negotiation of complex final accounts, warranty and bond administration, and dispute resolution.
