About Panos Rousakis

Panos is a Chartered Civil and Structural Engineer with over 15 years of experience as a consulting engineer involved in the management, design and supervision of UK and international projects. With experience across a broad range of sectors, including buildings, industrial, infrastructure, mixed-use commercial, water and telecommunications, his clients have included contractors, local authorities, RNLI, architects, project managers and private clients.

Panos leads the structural engineering team at SOCOTEC and serves on the structural assessors panel of the Building Safety Regulator (BSR) in England, part of the Health and Safety Executive (HSE). His expertise includes structural design relating to the use of all traditional construction materials (concrete, steel, timber, masonry), advanced structural analysis, buildability of structures and building safety. He has specialised expertise in seismic design of structures.

Alongside being appointed as a technical expert eight times, Panos has produced or supported the production of expert reports and structural investigations and technical compliance assessments on numerous claims relating to seismic design, alleged poor workmanship, defects in design and material specifications.

A member of the Institution of Civil Engineers and Institution of Structural Engineers, Panos also holds Master’s degrees in Earthquake Engineering, Construction Law, and Arbitration and Adjudication. He is a Senior Associate of the Academy of Experts and has attained the Legal Experience Training Advanced Professional Award in Expert Witness Evidence.
